Alva Pierlot, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Bilingual EC-6

Alva is a Dallas native, a former elementary school teacher, a former college advisor, an interpreter, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As a clinical therapist she enjoys working with children, teens, and families. In addition to working with students and young adults.

 

Alva has received her Bachelor of Sociology from the University of North Texas. As well as her Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Counseling from Texas University of Theology.

 

In addition to her Bilingual EC-6 Teaching Certification, she also obtained certifications in Substance Abuse and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She is trained in EMDR, TGCTA, and other trauma focused therapy models.

 

Her counseling expertise includes the following: Child Therapy, Family Issues, Parenting, Faith, Ministry, Spirituality, Self Esteem, Trauma, EMDR Therapy, Minority Issues, Hispanic Culture, Domestic Violence, Children, Adolescents, Young Adults, Career Exploration, Life Adjustments & Transitions. Alva is also a SYMBIS certified instructor for couples seeking premarital counseling.

 

When Alva is not counseling, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and daughter. She loves reading, sewing, traveling, enjoying some type of sweet dessert and a good movie.
